Thermomix TM6 vs TM7
Is it worth upgrading to Thermomix® TM7?
Thinking about moving from the TM6 to the TM7?
For many of my customers, the upgrade was totally worth it — the TM7 offers speedier performance, improved touchscreen responsiveness, and smarter recipe integration. You’ll notice quicker transitions between steps, a more intuitive interface, and a few clever tweaks that make everyday cooking even smoother. If your TM6 still works great, you won’t feel pressured to switch overnight — but if you love using the Thermomix and want the best, the TM7 makes the experience a little more effortless and future-proof.
New Features:
10-inch multi-touch display — a much bigger and more responsive screen that replaces the old dial interface.
Open Cooking mode — cook up to about 100 °C with no blade rotation and no lid, letting you add ingredients freely and get better evaporation
Manual browning support — browning is now available in both guided and manual cooking modes, giving you more flexibility
Cool-touch, insulated bowl — the mixing bowl is wrapped in insulation so you can touch it safely even while cooking
Larger Varoma steamer capacity — about 45% more steaming space than on the TM6, with a more rectangular shape for more practical layout of food
Quieter operation & new motor — enhanced noise control and a new motor design aim for smoother, quieter cooking experience
Simplified locking mechanism — no more arms opening or closing; the lid locks automatically at higher speeds, and the system is more intuitive to use
Customisable home screen — you can personalise your display and enjoy new interactive visuals
New spatula design & accessories tweaks — the spatula is redesigned to better clean the bowl, and some accessories have been refined for better ergonomics
Software features & connectivity updates — in recent software releases: recipe transfer from smartphone to TM7, remote monitoring (so you get updates on your phone), ingredient presets, and smarter scale functionality in Guided Cooking.
